Orion nebula (M42 - NGC 1976)

Orion nebula (M42 - NGC 1976)

Orion Nebula appeared to me one evening in January 2021 during an astrophography evening. It escaped me so many times last summer as I searched for it. I had no idea how the Orion Nebula could look so beautiful through a telephoto lens or a pair of binoculars. It is known as M42 or NGC 1976 and is 1350 light-years from Earth. I really appreciate the natural colors without heavy treatments.

This image was captured with a Nikon D750 DSLR + Nikon AF-S 70-200 F2.8 telephoto lens + x1.4 teleconverter. I did 28 30-second poses. I added a Rollei Askroklar filter for light pollution (confined to my home near a city). The mount is the famous Skywatcher Star Adventurer Pro. Image captured in Val de Briey (France) in a -5°C night (too cold!).
